1. iGiftThanks
I still prefer to send paper thank you cards but for small things (like going out to lunch with Grandma) or for when you’re overwhelmed and short on time, iGiftThanks is a quick and easy way to be polite.
2. Instagram
If you haven’t heard of Instagram, you’re probably living under a rock. It’s one of the most talked about apps right now. I love that you can take pictures from your current selection (in your photo album) and change them at a later date. One less step to remember when you’re about to take a picture of your child.
3. Diapers.com
I’m beyond excited that Diapers.com created an app. I can’t tell you how many times I have thought of something we need (or realized we are almost out of something) only to forget to jump on my computer and order it. Now? I can do it immediately!
4. white noise
My kids sleep with a white noise machine so having this on my phone is essential. Even if your kids don’t sleep with one, it’s a good thing to have (or know about) for those vacations when you’re staying at a noisy hotel and need to drown out the loud noises coming from the hall or next room.
5. ABC Go
This app plays engaging music and allows for parents and kids to tap different parts of a main picture to reveal individual pictures. Each individual picture has an audio that says the first letter of the word then the entire word (e.g. B- Bicycle). Along with the picture, you can pull up a (pre-approved) YouTube video so you can see the bicycle in action. There is also a “!” symbol which shows information about the bicycle.
6. WebMD Mobile
Look up symptoms, medication, first aid information, pharmacy, and hospital and doctors locations. With kids in tow, this thing is a live saver to have at your fingertips.
This is an awesome app for older children or for use while killing some time. My 8-year-old and I sat and read all about the Star Wars Death Star one night and I’ve been known to sit in the car and read about things while my kid finishes his nap in the back seat or while we wait for daddy to pick up the take-out.
8. MyKidInfo
I think this app should be a requirement for all parents! It stores each child’s information in one spot making it easy when you fill out sports, school, doctor or any other informational forms. It also serves as a quick and easy way to identify your child if you were to ever be separated from them.
I’m a to-do list fanatic and I’m also very forgetful. Writing a shopping list on a piece of paper rarely does me any good but I always have my phone one me!
10. AroundMe
Ever need ideas of where you could go? We do! We seem to forget about some of the cool things in our area from time to time. This is also very helpful while traveling with or without kids.

I’ve been called “maternal” since the day I could hold a baby doll. I’ve become a pregnancy, baby and parenting resource since having my first child almost 10 years ago. This is my blog and where I share my journey through parenthood with you.

funny. i have like 57 apps and not one of these. WAIT. LIED. I have Instagram.
My fave app is Tipulator. Come on, when you are rushing out of the restaurant b/c the kids are going crazy or you are with a large party, splitting the bill and you've had a couple margis who wants to do MATH?
That's assuming you get to go out to dinner
Great list! I have several of these but am downloading Mykidinfo to check it out. I love AroundMe too. Great for travel!
Love these! I'm having hubs get the white noise app for Lil L. Love that we can use that on the go.
Great post! I love my Diapers.com the most….so handy!!
Great resources. My daughter (also 8yrs) will love “How Stuff Works”!
It’s one of my son’s favorites! Thank you
