I’ve learned a lot about this recently.
I’ve also learned that the more people know, the less they judge.
According to Autism Speaks:
- As many as 1 in 88 children have autism.
- 1 in 54 are boys.
Those are some incredible numbers. Especially when you think about how many children are in your child’s school or on the neighborhood playground on any given Saturday. When you put those numbers into perspective – into your life – it hits you in a way you’ve never thought about before.
Fortunately there are many ways to show your support.
- Practice compassion.
- Support organizations and research through purchases.
- Get involved.
- Learn more.
- Wear blue to show your support.
How do you support autism awareness?
